Child Safeguarding Policy
Last updated: October 2026
Every child at Carmelite has the right to feel safe, respected and cared for. Keeping children safe is the shared responsibility of every member of our team.
Our commitments
- Children are supervised by trained staff at all times.
- Staff are carefully selected and background-verified before joining.
- Children are handed over only to parents or adults authorised in writing by them.
- Visitors are recorded and are never left alone with children.
- Classrooms and play areas are kept clean, hygienic and child-safe.
Care and well-being
We respond to each child with warmth and patience. Physical punishment, shouting or any form of humiliation is never used. Health concerns, injuries and any changes we notice are shared with parents promptly.
Raising a concern
Any concern about a child's safety, from staff or parents, is taken seriously, recorded confidentially and acted on without delay, including reporting to the appropriate authorities where required under Indian law (including the POCSO Act, 2012).
Working with parents
We believe safeguarding works best in partnership with families. Parents are welcome to speak to us about any concern at any time.
